WASHINGTON, DC -- John D. Sullivan, executive director of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), and Michael J. Hershman, a member of CIPE’s Board of Directors, have been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute, the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, as one of 2014’s 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics. The award recognizes individuals who have made a material impact in the world of business ethics and compliance.

Global Editorial Cartoon Competition Winners Announced

WASHINGTON, DC – In a competition that provided a venue for artists from around the world to provide a personal interpretation of challenges faced by many citizens, the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) announced the winners of the 2014 Global Editorial Cartoon Competition.

Artists from Syria, El Salvador and Indonesia won in the Democracy, Corruption, and Transparency categories.

CIPE Celebrates Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, Works on Women’s Empowerment in 58 Countries

WASHINGTON, DC – Since 1999, the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) has worked on women’s empowerment in 58 countries, John D. Sullivan, Executive Director of the Center for Private International Enterprise said today. 

Today is Women’s Entrepreneurship Day which is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The week officially opened on November 17 in 150 countries with millions of people—from young students to start-up entrepreneurs to government leaders—taking part in activities and events throughout the week.

Government and Private Sector of Yemen hold dialogue in support of Yemen's economic development

WASHINGTON, DC -- A Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Yemen and the Yemeni private sector was signed today in Washington DC to foster an enabling environment for business creation and youth employment.

“This is exciting news,” John D. Sullivan, Executive Director of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) remarked. “This is a first of its kind partnership between the Yemeni government and private sector to establish a working framework that will support the critical transition process in Yemen.”

The winning blogs were selected from nearly 100 entries from 35 countries in three categories relating to democratic and economic reforms.
