Washington, DC -- The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) and local business leaders from the Afghan province of Herat just released a Provincial Business Agenda (PBA) report that highlights recommendations for reforms that will reduce corruption, improve security, reduce taxes, increase access to credit, and improve infrastructure. All of these reforms are designed to improve the business climate in the province and create more economic opportunity.

CIPE Partner Report Shows Isis Control of Oil Fields Funds Terrorism

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Syrian Economic Forum (SEF) has released a study of Syrian oil production and trade which shows that 80 percent of Syria’s oil fields are controlled by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), providing around $3 million a day in funding for the terrorist organization.

Syrian Civil Society and Interim Government Commit to Improving Local Governance and Education

WASHINGTON, D.C.- In a move that will help civil society and opposition authorities work together to improve local level governance and education in Syria, the Syrian Economic Forum (SEF) and Syrian Interim Government (SIG) signed Memorandums of Understandings to formalize their cooperation.
