Washington, DC — The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: Ambassador Douglas E. Lute, President of Cambridge Global Advisors and Nicole Y. Lamb-Hale, a Managing Director at Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps.
The two new additions to CIPE’s growing board further the organization’s mission of promoting business-led solutions to economic challenges across the globe.
Lute served as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Council, NATO’s standing political body, from 2013 to 2017. A retired U.S. Army lieutenant general, Lute also served as Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor. He joins CIPE with decades of experience in addressing global security challenges and foreign policy matters.
Lamb-Hale is a former Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing and Services in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. Prior to that post, she served as the Deputy General Counsel and assisted the General Counsel as the legal advisor to the Secretary of Commerce. Lamb-Hale is a passionate advocate for U.S. business and trade, with more than 25 years of expertise in dealing with global commercial and compliance matters in both the public and private sectors.

CIPE’s recent programmatic expansions will be the biggest beneficiaries of Lamb-Hale’s and Lute’s board membership, including the organization’s newly-inaugurated Centers of Excellence for Anti-Corruption and Governance (ACGC) and Women’s Economic Empowerment (CWEE), as well as new projects such as the development of a Conflict Taskforce unit.
CIPE is a core institute of the National Endowment for Democracy and an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
