A conversation with Silvija Vig, PhD — Author of Business Ethics – How to Develop Authentic Leadership

Silvija Vig, PhD, Founder and CEO, CODUPO Silvija’s professional career is focused on behavioral ethics and business ethics, building organizational cultures and authentic leadership, implementation of compliance and ethics programs. She has more than twenty years of work experience in managerial positions, in Croatia and abroad. Silvija successfully completed her doctoral study at the Faculty of Economy, Zagreb with the thesis “The Impact of Business Ethics on Business Performance”. Since 2015, Silvija holds prestigious LPEC – Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance certificate awarded by the Ethics & Compliance Initiative. Since 2018 she has been a member of the Commission for Corporate Social Responsibility and Combating Corruption, International Chamber of Commerce – ICC Croatia. She was a long-time visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Economy in Zagreb, and lecturer as well as module coordinator in the field of management at other higher education institutions in Croatia. She is the author of many scientific papers from the field of organizational culture and leadership, business ethics and compliance; certified NLP Master Practitioner, NLP Master Practitioner Coach and Executive Coach, member of NLPEA – NLP Association of Excellence and International Coach Federation – ICF. She is an experienced speaker in the field of compliance and ethics, behavioral and business ethics, and author of book “Business Ethics – How to Develop Authentic Leadership and Build a Culture of Happy and Engaged Employees with Ethics and Compliance Programs?” – the first book that describes in detail the implementation of the Ethics and Compliance Program in the Croatian language.
Ekaterina Lysova, PhD, Program Officer for Eurasia at the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE). Ekaterina has over 15 years of experience working on issues of media freedom, civil society development, and anti-corruption in the former Soviet Union. She worked as a media lawyer for an IREX project supporting independent media in Russia, served as a Eurasia media law consultant for Freedom House and the Committee to Protect Journalists in New York, and conducted her two-year project on Russia’s media and security sector reforms at the University of Cologne as a German Chancellor Scholar. Prior to joining CIPE, Lysova specialized on corporate integrity compliance and fraud & corruption investigations while working as a lawyer for TRACE International and the World Bank’s Integrity Vice Presidency (INT). Lysova received her Ph.D. in law at Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, Russia, and holds a Master’s degree from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service with a focus on international development. Lysova is a native Russian speaker, fluent in English, and proficient in German.
