From May 4 – 6, 2024, CIPE’s partner CETYS University (CU), the most recognized university in the State of Baja California, Mexico, will present its online platform, acelerart.com, at the World Design Spotlight in Tijuana. The World Design Capital (WDC) 2024 will be the first year in which the designation is given to binational cities, San Diego, USA, and Tijuana, Mexico, marking an opportunity to highlight the region’s culture, design, and innovation. The WDC hosts multiple events throughout the year, showcasing arts, designs, and organizations.
Since 2022, CIPE has worked with CU to strengthen a democratic culture in Tijuana through increased youth civic and economic participation. As part of the program, CIPE and CU developed acelerart.com to promote the cultural and creative industries in Tijuana, Mexico. The platform connects business owners and entrepreneurs within the industry and provides financial and technical resources and support to local businesses and entrepreneurs.
At the World Design Spotlight, CIPE and CU will have an opportunity to share the program’s success in developing a collaborative platform that allows individuals from Tijuana’s cultural and creative industries to network and strengthen their business capacities.
