Global Youth Leadership Conference 2022

12.13.2022, 12:00AM

On December 13, CIPE held its second annual Youth Leadership Conference. The Conference brought together CIPE staff and youth activists and local organizations from around the world to demonstrate private sector-led solutions to current youth issues and showcase the research and advocacy projects of the Youth Leaders selected as part of CIPE’s Youth Leadership Program. Building on CIPE’s previous work engaging with youth as future civic, political, and business leaders, the Youth Leadership Program is a non-residential program that aims to both increase the visibility of economic issues affecting youth and create a platform for young people to amplify their voices. CIPE selected five outstanding Youth Leaders from Moldova, Mexico, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uzbekistan. Each Leader conducted either an advocacy or research project around the themes of “Youth and Private Enterprise” or “Youth and Democracy” and presented their findings during this event.

The conference provided a platform for dialogue with global partners and stakeholders on youth issues. CIPE Executive Director Andrew Wilson provided opening remarks, followed by a keynote speech by Blair Glencorse, Founder & Executive Director of Accountability Lab. The Conference also featured a fireside chat with CIPE Deputy Regional Director of Latin America & the Caribbean Martin Friedl and Dorian Popá, CEO & Founder of Club Utopia Technology. CIPE’s five youth leaders also shared their research and advocacy projects, which were featured on the conference platform for participants to view.
