The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) is proud to advance the security and prosperity of the United States of America. For over 40 years, CIPE has operated in some of the most challenging environments by only going where it is asked and needed most. As a core institute of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), CIPE supports and works with local partners in over 120 countries to strengthen democratic resilience and markets by advancing economic freedoms and expanding opportunity. CIPE’s work supports partnerships with democratic allies and provides clear fact-based data that enables them to resist economic coercion from malign actors like China and Iran who seek to stifle U.S. growth by oppressing America’s exports and business interests abroad. CIPE further counters China’s malign influence by promoting transparency, exposing the risks of authoritarian-backed investments, and bolstering the resilience of democratic institutions. By empowering allies to resist economic coercion and ensuring markets remain open and fair, CIPE protects America’s strategic interests while fostering global stability and economic growth.
CIPE makes America safer, stronger, and more prosperous by helping grow and strengthen export markets for U.S. goods. CIPE also diversifies supply chains that currently depend on America’s adversaries, enhancing U.S. national security and expanding opportunities for American businesses and exports to grow and compete fairly. Globally, CIPE’s work with entrepreneurs as they start-up and scale-up businesses is providing jobs in their communities and stronger local connections. This work thwarts irregular migration, offers an alternative to violent extremism, and creates market opportunities for U.S. companies poised to grow their exports.
CIPE supports the foreign aid review and the Administration’s efforts in ensuring foreign assistance supports the U.S. national interests. CIPE also looks forward to working with the Administration to come to a resolution on this pause in funding to the National Endowment for Democracy so that these funds are dispersed once again, and this great work can continue in full force.
