Leveraging Entrepreneurship, Advocacy, and Digitalization to Empower Salvadorian Women Entrepreneurs (LEAD 2023)
CIPE works with Asociación Salvadoreña para el Desarrollo Económico y Social (FUSADES) to empower Salvadorian women entrepreneurs by providing training in entrepreneurship and digital skills, while promoting their participation in democratic decision-making. Building on previous work that assessed women’s access to the digital economy, CIPE and FUSADES offer workshops to enhance women’s business capabilities and foster dialogue on inclusive digital transformation. The initiative aims to improve women’s involvement in the private sector, digital economy, and politics, connecting education, political, and economic empowerment to help Salvadorian women shape the future of their country.

Strengthening Women’s Entrepreneurship Ecosystems Together (SWEET 2023)
CIPE works with women’s business associations and women-led civil society organizations in Central America to better serve their members and drive collective action for women’s economic empowerment. Building on previous efforts, CIPE support three organizations in improving the environment for women’s participation in both the private sector and democratic processes. Using a holistic, three-pronged approach, the initiative will provide capacity-building workshops, advocacy training, technical skills development, and opportunities for regional networking to empower women at individual, community, and institutional levels.

CIPE Launches Capacity Building Program for Women’s Empowerment Organizations in Central America
Central America Think Tank Program (CATT)
CIPE works with think tanks in Guatemala and El Salvador to strengthen collaboration and advocate for economic reform, free markets, and regional integration. By supporting a network of these organizations, CIPE and its partners tackle challenges like inconsistent policies, corruption, crime, and legislative opacity. Building on a regional roadmap, the initiative will promote democratic and economic development while exploring integration opportunities. The Center and its partners will also participate in international forums, raising global awareness and fostering dialogue on Central America’s democratic challenges.

Central America Youth Entrepreneurship and Citizen Engagement Program (CONA)
This project promotes democratic culture and inclusive economic growth in Central America by fostering citizen engagement and supporting the creative economy. In its second phase, Colmena Naranja (CONA) builds on past successes to cultivate civic-minded entrepreneurs in Guatemala and El Salvador’s intermediary cities, focusing on creative industries. CIPE supports local partners enhance their organizational capacity for long-term sustainability. By empowering youth through civic participation and entrepreneurship, the initiative aims to drive positive change and economic growth in the region.

The Creative Economy in Latin America
Advancing Regional Consensus for Democratic Digital Transformation and Resilience
CIPE is collaborating with Asociación Salvadoreña para el Desarrollo Económico y Social (FUSADES) to equip the private sector and key stakeholders in El Salvador with knowledge and practical solutions for navigating the legal, ethical, and security challenges posed by generative AI. Through a series of four webinars, participants will explore issues such as copyright, privacy, cybersecurity, and the future of labor rights in the context of AI. The initiative seeks to foster responsible AI adoption, enhance digital literacy, and promote discussions on the need for updated legal frameworks to ensure safe and ethical use of AI technologies amongst the region’s private sector.
