Women’s Economic Empowerment in Central Asia – A Regional Gender Analysis

Case Studies

Abstract

The Regional Gender Analysis on Women’s Economic Empowerment in Central Asia was developed by consultant Civitta International with support from the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) under the “WE-Champs: Strengthening the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem by Networking Regional Women’s Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations” project, funded by the U.S. Department of State Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues (S/GWI). The WE-Champs project aims to support women’s chambers of commerce and business associations across Europe, Central Asia and Africa to strengthen services for women entrepreneurs and address barriers to their economic participation. This Regional Gender Analysis identifies common themes and obstacles to women’s economic participation in Central Asia, underscoring the pressing need for targeted policies and interventions aimed at addressing gender disparities and fostering women’s economic empowerment within these regions. This document does not necessarily reflect the views of the U.S. Department of State or of CIPE.
