Jeremy Holt is a CIPE Program Associate with dual assignments to the Africa and Programs departments. On the Africa department, he serves as chief of staff and helps coordinate activities among the Washington, D.C. office and the five field offices on the continent. As a member of the Programs department, he supports program development efforts across regional and functional teams. Prior to joining CIPE, Holt interned for the Massachusetts House of Representatives and for the U.S. Embassy in Botswana and the Office of the Historian at the U.S. Department of State.
Holt holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University with concentrations in public international law and political theory. His thesis concerned South Africa’s political alignment at the United Nations. While at Fletcher, Holt contributed to the Rising Power Alliances Project, which investigated diplomatic relations among the BRICS group and their implications for U.S. foreign policy. He is also an alumnus of Wheaton College, in Massachusetts, where he majored in English and international relations and studied abroad in South Africa and Israel.
