Sergey Nikolin is the Chief Financial Officer with over 30 years of experience in Finance. In his role, he is overseeing the Grants and Finance Department and provides support and assistance to the Board of Directors Audit Committee, Treasurer, and the Executive Director to ensure full custody of the CIPE’s funds, adequate assessment, risk mitigation, and compliance with applicable regulatory and other legal requirements.
Sergey has extensive experience working with a multi-donor portfolio, including federal and private sector donor funds. He has expert knowledge of USAID requirements and regulations, and a deep understanding of non-profit finance. As a forward-looking CFO, he assures the financial viability of the organization through proactive analysis and sound administration of policies and procedures. He leads the continued improvement of the current financial planning and management tools and the operating planning, budgeting, and reporting processes both domestically and internationally.
Sergey holds an MBA in Finance from California State University, Hayward, and a Master of Science in Accounting from Moscow State University of Printing Arts.
During his tenure at USAID, for his leadership and exceptional service to the U.S. Government, he was recognized with the U.S. DOS Meritorious Honor Award and Medal.
